Everyone PLEASE remember-your animals need to breath!
Here are some guidelines when preparing to bring animals to auction:
  • Please make sure you make enough air holes when transporting animals in boxes and do not put
too many in each box.  You should allow 1 square foot of space per animal.   Animals WILL DIE if
packaged too tightly or without enough air.
  • When bringing animals in plastic crates, add pine shavings or some other type of medium to absorb
urine.  Smelly, wet animals do not sell well.  This is a REQUIREMENT NOT a request!
  • If packaging in boxes it will save a lot of time at check-in if the contents (count, sex of the animal,
breed, etc.) are marked on the outside of the boxes.  Be prepared to provide a count of any
    unmarked cages.
  • Also, please do not bring any animals that have not been weaned from their mothers.  Piglets must
be no younger than 6 weeks old.  Babies must be proven to be weaned or bottle fed.

*IMPORTANT*:
As hotter weather is approaching,
please consider
your animals' health when bringing to them to
auction. These animals will likely be away from
"home" the entire day and they generate a LOT
of heat when placed in boxes.
Allow 1 foot of space PER ANIMAL!
Never box or cage "as many as will fit"!
Feel free to bring food but especially water.
See below for more tips on transporting animals
for auction.
SAH and your animals will thank you!
