Everyone PLEASE remember-your animals need to breathe! Here are some guidelines when preparing to bring animals to auction:
Please make sure you make enough air holes when transporting animals in boxes and do not put too many in each box. You should allow 1 square foot of space per animal. Animals WILL DIE if packaged too tightly or without enough air.
When bringing animals in plastic crates, add pine shavings or some other type of medium to absorb urine. Smelly, wet animals do not sell well. This is a REQUIREMENT, NOT a request!
If packaging in boxes it will save a lot of time at check-in if the contents (count, sex of the animal, breed, etc.) are marked on the outside of the boxes. Be prepared to provide a count of any unmarked cages.
Also, please do not bring any animals that have not been weaned from their mothers. Piglets must be no younger than 6 weeks old. Babies must be proven to be weaned or bottle fed.
